10-15 minutes of interview can point you to the right direction during investigation works.
It is very important to have temporal information to understand the condition before, during, and after the event. Without any monitoring equipment installed, the locals and eye witnesses are most reliable source of information on site!
Always spend time to talk and listen to their concern.

Saya mewakili IGM/GSM menyokong penuh usaha utk memperkasakan LCP. Beberapa isu saya sentuh;
1) LCP perlu mengambil kira semua plan tempatan, nasional dan antarabangsa termasuk UN SGDs, Sendai Framework on DRR/M, Urban Habitat, dan lain2.
2) LCP perlu mencerminkan report yg berdasarkan sains dan bukti (science- and evidence-based)
3) laporan berkaitan geologi bukan hanya tentang gradien cerun.
21-23/8/2019: 3-days short course on rock slope engineering at University of Malaya. Trust the course will be beneficial to all participants. 2 days of classroom lectures with 1 day field work in between. Fieldwork will be in metasedimentary and granite slope in KL.
Tue, 20/8/2019 – Completed the curriculum and new programme review as Adjunct Professor with geoscience lecturers of University of Malaysia Kelantan (UMK). I am very excited with the spirit of this group of young lecturers who want to enhance their geoscience programme. There are 3 things really excited me;
1) inclusion of ‘Professional Practice and Management’ as part of core subject. This subject is very important for Professional Geologists who should understand the professional ethics and code of conducts, relevant acts in Malaysia as well as project and data management.
2) managed to develop framework of new programme that emphasis on application of geotechnology, ICT, remote sensing, softwares and everything related to IR4.0 without sacrificing fundamental geoscience subjects.
3) few elective courses really applied in nature and very relevant to industry. Some of these courses similar to courses given at post-graduate level in some universities locally or abroad.
Trust geoscience programme in UMK have bright future ahead!
