Representatives from GMT join the Science and Technology for Disaster Risk Reduction (STDRR) Week at Kundasang, Sabah. Organised by Society for Engineering Geology and Rock Mechanics (SEGRM) and University Technology Malaysia.
Our people also amongst the coordinator for the fieldwork and field excursion. The program focusses on the science and technology application in disaster risk reduction. Particularly landslide, debris flow, and earthquake which is the prominent geological hazard event that occurred in 2015 causing major destruction and disruptive which also cause deaths of locals and tourists.
Our CEO have also succeeded to bring GMT Group banner on the peak of the Mount Kinabalu.
22 Feb 2019 Friday – Alhamdulillah. Geomapping group of companies ‘a multidisciplinary geoprofessionals firm’ has new and bigger office now. Thanks to friends and families who attended our ‘majlis bacaan yasin, tahlil dan doa selamat’ today.
We have create GeoDream, a social enterprise initiative with several specific goals;
i) to assist the unfortunate by giving back,
ii) to assist active and talented fresh graduates who has difficulties finding jobs,
iii) to assist students with program to prepare for real career world,
iv) to provide continuous professional development to our staff.
Some portion of our margin will be channel to this initiative.
16-18 Jan 2019- Project Meeting & Site Visit at Cameron Highlands with Construction Research Institute of Malaysia (CREAM) Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) on Landslide Vulnerability, Risk Assessment, Critical Infrastructure, Disaster Resilience, National Guideline.
16 Jan 2019 – Alhamdulillah. Completed signing of mutual exclusive agreement with 3JTech Co of Taiwan for geophysical services, MT Seis and TEM as well as for on line monitoring of slopes.
3JTech is technological company providing services and manufacturing electronics products. The MT Seis and TEM survey suitable for groundwater basin study and hard rock aquifer with target depth more than 50m.
3JTech also capable to do online monitoring of slopes, water well etc.
We have interesting discussion on the application of AI (artificial intelligence) and IOT (internet of things) in geoscience activities.
10-13 Jan 2019 Geomapping Technology Annual Business Plan Retreat 2018 at MyGopeng Resort 2018 was interesting year to all of us.
We trust 2019 will be another successful year. Thanks to all our clients for the support in 2018. We really appreciate it. Good outing with good programme:

2) business plan
3) caving, hiking and picnic
On the 3rd day,
i) explored Gua Kandu
ii) karaoke session at night 😁😁
The final day was only short brainstorming session and ended with lunch at the famous nasi padang restaurant in Tg Malim!
Mesyuarat koordinasi terakhir tahun 2018 diikuti dengan majlis perpisahan 2 org trainee dari 4 org selepas 6 bulan. 2 lagi ditawarkan jawatan tetap. Seorang lagi yang tidak sempat diraikan perpisahan sementara iaitu saudara Afifi, Pengarah Bhg Geospatial kerana urusan belajar di Imperial College. Semoga maju jaya dan sehingga jumpa lagi.
Annual Luncheon memperingati ulangtahun ke 16 penubuhan Geomapping dan ke 3 penjenamaan semula. Acara sederhana tapi meriah dalam suasana kekeluargaan. Penyerahan cenderahati dan sijil tamat latihan industri kpd pelajar2 dari Universiti Malaya dan University of Birmingham. Semoga terus berjaya dimasa depan.
Field visit and training by Assoc Prof Dr Ng Tham Fatt and Assoc Prof Dr Tajul Anuar Jamaluddin on geological terrain mapping and landslides identification and mapping in Cameron Highlands. Trust all the participants will benefit from it.
Dr Ng still have touch on geological terrain mapping after so many years. He is still the best person on this subject and among the pioneers. He is also the founder of Geomapping Technology Sdn Bhd.
Dr Tajul is the person who had seen and mapped the most landslides in Malaysia and other countries is still the best person when we refer to landslides mapping.
UTM Intellectual Discourse 2018 on Geohazards Information for Disaster Risks Assessment:
Being panelist for the forum representing Geological Society of Malaysia. Other panels include Dato Zakaria Mohamad, Prof Ir Zainab Mohd, Dr Khamarrul Azahari dan Prof Chigira from Japan.
Nur Aliah is a college graduate from National University of Malaysia with a Bachelor's Degree in Geology (Honors) with CGPA of 3.67. Bright and research oriented geologist focus on gathering information and analyzing data. Energetic and hands on with the ability to characterize rockfall, landslide, perform desktop studies and field working. Currently work as a geologist at Geomapping Technology Sdn. Bhd. Ready to tackle any challenge with positive attitude.
Nurul Ain Nabillah is a dedicated and skilled geologist with over one year of experience in the field. Graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Geology from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, achieving a CGPA of 3.70. Demonstrates a strong understanding of geological principles and practices, with a proven ability to apply this knowledge effectively in various projects.
A passionate geologist with more than 2 years of experience in the field with high proficiency in GIS software. Adept at collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, accurate, and visually appealing geospatial products. He successfully contributed his expertise and passion for geology in a dynamic and challenging work environment since 2023.
She earned her Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with Honours from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. She is a registered Graduate Engineer with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) and a member of the Institution of Engineers Malaysia (IEM). Currently, she is pursuing her Professional Engineer certification. Her experience encompasses design, technical management, and documentation for various projects, including structural engineering, landfill engineering, environmental geotechnics, soft soil engineering, foundation design, slope design, and retaining walls and support systems. She is proficient in several engineering software applications such as Esteem, Geo5, MiTS, Slope/W, Plaxis, and Rocscience. She joined GMT Group as a Geotechnical Engineer in 2024.
Muhammad Hafizol Bin Mohd Desa earned his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and Infrastructure from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Cawangan Pulau Pinang in 2021. He is registered as a Graduate Engineer with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM). Known for his passion and self-motivation, Hafizol possesses a strong knowledge of civil engineering, particularly in geotechnical aspects. He is proficient in various civil engineering software tools such as Esteem, Slope/w, and Orion 18, and is ready to utilize his skills for the company's growth.
Nik Muhammad Rusyairie bin N Ruhadi graduated with Bachelor Degree in Surveying Science and Geomatic from University of Teknologi Mara (UiTM) in 2021 with first class honours. He is register with CIDB Malaysia , Expressway Operation Safety and Passport (EOSP) and NIOSH-Tenaga Safety Passport (NTSP). He have experienced in many types job of survey such as in Lidar and aerial Mapping for palm oil tree, underground utility and cable detection, 3-D dimensional virtual tour using Matterport, Topographic Survey and so on. He is capable to use several survey software such as AutoCAD, DJI Terra, Pix4D mapper, Global Mapper and ArcGIS. He joined GMT Group as Surveyor in 2023.
Shazwina holds a Bachelor of Information Science (Hons) in Information System Management, combining her strong academic background with practical administrative experience. She excels in organizational tasks and multitasking, demonstrating a proactive and detail-oriented approach. Eager to learn new skills across diverse industries, she is driven to gain valuable experience and contribute effectively to GMT Group.
Aina Ashyiqin Gapor obtained her Bsc (Hons.) in Applied Physics from Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia in 2023. Proven ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and prioritize workload effectively. She plays an important role in workplace, as she performs many administrative duties to help executive offices operate smoothly. She works directly with executives, often serving as a liaison between them and their clients or colleagues. As a result, she also has a responsibility to uphold the confidentiality of information while on the job.
Nurin Afrina graduated from The National University of Malaysia (UKM) with a Bachelor of Geology (Honours) in 2019. A committed individual who is capable of working consistently and willing to go the extra mile to make work more enjoyable for both company and personal growth. Additionally, an optimistic, well-organized individual with a proven record of work experience, as well as someone who is prepared to accept feedback from others in order to improve herself for future career advancement. Currently working as a geologist at Geomapping Technology Sdn Bhd.
