The Department of Geology UM saw the formation of Geological Society of Malaysia in 1967 and Institute of Geology Malaysia in 1989.
Today at the same venue, 19 representatives from geoscience-related companies agreed to form Malaysian Geoscience Consultants and Services Association (MyGeo) or Persatuan Perunding dan Perkhidmatan Geosains Malaysia. The association will cater various industries including oil & gas, quarrying & mining, groundwater, environment & engineering and any other geoscience-related industries. We also agreed that the members shall be all companies registered with relevant agencies to provide consultancy and services related to geoscience.
We pray that the association can be officially operated by June 2020.
